An elegant early Victorian fusee wall timepiece with a 12” diameter convex painted dial signed 'Giscard, Downham', in a mahogany case with cast brass bezel.

The movement has well shaped plates with bold knopped pillars, fronted by delicate steel hands. William Giscard is recorded working in Downham Market, Norfolk, from 1822 – 1865. He was succeeded by his son James.
