A good quality Victorian skeleton clock, the timepiece fusee movement with six spoke wheels to the train, and skeletonised barrel, fronted by a narrow silvered engraved brass chapter ring, on a rosewood veneered base with brass decoration, under an oval glass dome. Ht. (without dome): 11 ½ "
Stock No. 3234
This clock has a frame similar to those known to have been made by Haycock of Ashbourne; it is possible that the were the makers. Six spoke wheel work is a sign of quality, as is the skeletonised going barrel, with a shroud to the setting up arbour, and the screwed pillars holding the plates apart.
