A decorative French 'tole peint' wall clock, the two train movement embossed 'Vincenti et Cie', with silk suspension and 6" diameter porcelain enamel dial striking the hours and half hours on a gong, in a moulded sheet metal case with bird and flower applied decoration to the faux rosewood background. The brass bezel and surround is finely tooled, and the clock hangs from a brass ball and ring suspension.

The case is of octagonal form, with a raised central section in which the dial sits, and has a steady lug at the bottom. The movement is accessed via a door in the wooden back.
Vincenti and Co. were thought to have been based in Paris and were one of a group of makers (Marti, Japy , Mougin), who made many quality clock movements from c.1860 - c.1880.
