A rare and impressive Georgian gallery clock, the 32”  black lacquer octagon wooden dial with cushion edge moulding, gilt chapter and Roman hour and Arabic five minute numerals, and delicate floral decoration. The five pillar fusee movement with original anchor escapement, in a possibly later oak back box, fronted by matching brass hands, the minute hand counterbalanced.

This clock was made for and hung for many years at Titsey Place, Surrey, the seat of the Leveson Gower family, from whom it was purchased by the previous owner in the early 1960s.
