An exquisite small Regency mantel timepiece with a 4” diameter porcelain enamel dial fronting a fusee movement, both the dial and the movement signed with this famous maker’s name and address. It has delicate ‘pierced moon’ hands, and is contained within a mahogany case with restrained brass inlay, brass side handles, and sits on brass ball feet.

Stock No. 3262 

James McCabe, the second of three generations of eminent clockmakers, all called James, carried on his father’s business at this address after his father’s death in 1811. The firm continued until 1868.
