There are a number of clockmakers with this surname working in Yorkshire at this time - William Richardson was working in Selby at Gowthorpe and then the Market Place until 1844, when he appears to have moved to Aire Street, Goole, where he continued to work until 1851. There was also a John Richardson, recorded working in Gawthorpe Street from 1846 - 1871. There was also a Philip Richardson who is recorded in Selby in 1846, after which he too seems to have gone to Goole. They were all probably related. It could be the work of any one of these, but most likely John Richardson.
