A delicate fusee wall clock of small size, the 8" diameter flat painted dial signed 'W H Couldridge, Totnes', the movement housed in a pale  mahogany case with slim surround and cast brass bezel.

William Henry Couldridge is recorded working in New Walk Totnes in 1866. It seems he moved to 177 Cowick Street, Exeter, in 1893.

An elegant Georgian fusee wall clock, the 13.5" flat wooden dial signed 'Yonge & Son, Strand London', the five pillar numbered fusee movement by Thwaites and Reed, in a mahogany case with turned dial surround, and quarter-round cast brass bezel with integral lock and  silvered sight ring. The brass hands are typical Thwaites 'pierced arrow' hands, the minute hand with counterbalance. The rear of the dial has the original instructions to the dial painter, and is also signed 'Lowther 1821' who is recorded as a case maker at that date.

John Thwaites for Allam & Caithness c.1803

An extremely unusual and rare wall clock, the 12” diameter silvered and engraved brass dial signed ‘Allam & Caithness, London’. The square plated double fusee movement with original verge and crownwheel escapement is by J Thwaites, and is numbered 3173, dating it to 1803. The mahogany drum case is of tapered form, and has rear and bottom doors only, with a single sound fret above XII, a turned dial surround, carrying a moulded brass bezel with integral lock.
