The ebonised case with flattened pyramid top has glazed side panels and glazed front and rear doors. Complete with steel rod pendulum and original winding key.

An impressive Victorian drop dial by Dutton & Co., the silvered engraved 12” diameter brass dial signed by this important maker, including the Queen Victoria royal cipher, and the date 1868. The typically high quality fusee timepiece movement has a steel pendulum rod, and heavy brass bob, and bold steel hands. The mahogany case has superb flame veneer to the trunk, and side and bottom doors. This clock was a part of a government commission of 1868 for the civil service, and inventory labels inside the case indicate that it hung in the Public Record Office, Chancery Lane.

A rare and unusual Irish bracket clock with alarm, the break arch painted dial signed boldly ‘Milton Dublin’, with strike / silent indicator in the arch, flanked by gilded decorative swags, and with similar painted gilded decorative spandrels. The central alarm setting dial is silvered brass, and has a pull mechanism mounted to backplate of the movement, which is signed ‘Milton fecit’. The eight day movement strikes the hours on a bell. The mahogany case has typical Irish rope carving to the cornice and plinth, an unusual ‘Dublin castle’ escutcheon, and brass side sound frets. It has a finely tooled carrying handle, and sits on four turned wood feet.

A most unusual high quality ‘drum’wall timepiece, the 10” diameter engraved silvered brass dial signed ‘Brockbank and Atkins, London, 2333’, the fusee movement with lever platform escapement with a ‘set going’ button on the dial. The rosewood case with oak leaf decoration around the dial, has no access doors, and is of robust construction, leading to the conclusion that it was made for naval use, perhaps in the state rooms of a ship.
